Welcome to 5Con Panelists' bio page!
George W. Claxton
Once a professional archaeologist, he now makes a minuscule living as
a crime reporter for a local newspaper in northern Massachusetts. With
a B.A. (cum laude) from the University of California, a Masters in anthropology
from the University of Massachusetts and doctoral studies at that same
Amherst pain factory, Claxton considers himself qualified to pontificate
on the subject of world building, the law and anything else you care to
listen to. Claxton has been reading science fiction for decades and loves
the politics explored in form in such books as Dune and Declare. He does,
however, deny any responsibility for the election of the current shrub
in the oval office.
Alison Keroack
Alison has been reading scifi/f from an early age, and is astounded to
find that she actually has time to do leisure reading again now that she
has graduated from Smith college. She was fortunate enough to be able
to take a course on scifi while spending her junior year in Geneva. During
her years at Smith, she was a member of the Smith Science Fiction and
Fantasy Society (SSFFS), its secretary for one year, and its president
her senior year. She now holds a B.A. (cum laude) in French language and
literature. Also a geek from an early age, she currently works at Smith
College providing technical support. She was at the first 5Con (due to
being the sibling of a co-founder), gophered at 5Con6, and was on the
staff of 5Con7. She has also rashly volunteered to be a panelist at 5Con10.
